The Wingfield Trophy semi-finalists
With the weather hinting at summer temperatures Andover Lawn Tennis Club recently held their early season social handicap event, the Wingfield Tournament, which has been held since 1970. Eight mixed pairs entered and were split into two groups. In the Ace Servers’ group, youngsters Hallam Doney and Georgia Moon finished top, winning all their matches. Despite only winning one of their three matches’, father and daughter Shaun and Amy McDonald were second by dint of winning one more game than Graham Martin and Jennie Pope. New member Rick Dawson and Liz Smith offered stern resistance but could not produce a win and finished fourth.
