The young Lions travelled to in-form top of the league Curley Park Rangers for their League Cup quarter-final.

In difficult conditions Andover started well with Alex Gladwyn dictating play and the industrious Brad Craney applying good pressure in the midfield. However, after ten minutes Andover gifted Curley the opening goal against the run of play. Ten minutes later they doubled their lead as a result of Andover mistakes, giving them a mountain to climb.

With half-time imminent Andover got back in the tie with a header from Gladwyn after a well worked set piece. The second half started much like the first with Jake Smith’s long throw a constant threat and pressure finally told in the 80th minute as another set piece fell to Gladwyn who finished well to set up a grandstand finish.

Andover had the momentum and good work from Ryan Steele resulted in a tap in for Craig Blakeman to complete a fine comeback and continue his hot scoring form.

Man of the match Gladwyn (pictured) was instrumental in the fight back with an impressive midfield display and Harri Mulberry provided great leadership in the last 20 minutes as the Lions moved a step closer to another cup final.
