Thruxton still in pole position

1:40am Wednesday 10th March 2010

Pharmasol 1 Thruxton 2.

Leaders Thruxton left it late before securing all three points on a very difficult Appleshaw pitch.

Casson Spencer's backheel gave them an early lead but they failed to cash in on their possession and were then reduced to ten men for the last 20 minutes. Pharmasol saw their opportunity and equalised through Dwayne Jones with seven minutes remaining but with time running out the visitors upped their game and Kris Hudson fired a late winner.

Aldridge Vehicles 1 Barton Stacey 11.

Barton Stacey bounced back from their disappointing loss to Tritax with an impressive win over a young Aldridge Vehicles side.

Shorn of a goal keeper, Gary Nowell filled in flawlessly as Barton raced to a four goal lead at half-time. More followed in the second half as Nick Oliver hit five and Alex Iddles two with Mark Alexander, Rhus Betteridge and Simon Schulze also on the score sheet.

An important win for Barton Stacey who remain in the mix at the top of Division One.
