Bell muffled by Eclipse

Netball.

FM Eclipse 45 The Bell 29.

Both teams started spritely, determined to dominate play from the whistle.

Bright and fast passages saw FM continually edge ahead only for the Bell to steal the next centre and level. Carrieann Smith provided turnovers for FM while the Bell’s GD Sharon Duffield drove her team at the other end. FM made a tactical change for the second quarter, moving the height of Sarah Richards into defence and bringing substitute Beverley King on into attack despite a broken finger. The Bell had little in response and by half- time FM led 21-16.

FM's excellent form continued and their solid and precise play saw them build the lead by another seven goals.

Vernham Vixens 45 Burbidges 26.

a great match began with Vixens taking the lead but Burbidges fought hard in every quarter with Tracey Steele intercepting well which brought their scores up to nearly level. Vixens worked well as a team with Charlotte Farquharson also playing well to set up both shooters to increase the lead. Although Burbidges fought back it was not enough.

Aces 49 Burbidges 22.

It was goal for goal in the first quarter, this being the first time these teams have met for many years and they didn't disappoint.

Going into the second quarter Connells’ ACES kept their guard up keeping Burbidges out of the circle and their attack was on fire and every player contributed to an excellent game. Great team work seen from both teams made this a fast friendly.
