FIRST XV centre Nick Rowe (pictured) has failed to recover from a serious ankle injury which has seen him sidelined for 12 weeks.
Despite undergoing a course of private physiotherapy, an anticipated post Christmas return has failed to materialise. A visit to a specialist consultant confirmed his worst fears that a return to playing again this season was unlikely. There is still extensive trauma in the joint with a severe amount of bone bruising which has yet to settle. Further treatment will be the first step, followed almost certainly by arthroscopic surgery and then a further period of rehabilitation and strengthening.
Rowe now joins Sam Froggett on the long term injury list of Andover’s back division, with the latter rupturing his Achilles tendon in mid October and now in post operative rehabilitation
