New man Rupert in the hot seat
4:47pm Wednesday 22nd February 2012
Andover Triathlon Club voted in new chairman Rupert Griffiths, as Howell Reed stepped down after three years steering the club from strength to strength. New member Rupert represents many things
that it stands for “making the sport accessible for all standards, no matter of their experience or ability.” The club has 90 members from Andover and the surrounding area and provides coaching
sessions suitable for all standards, whether a Sam Wilson, current GB Age Group European Champion, one of the gang of iron men, such as Barry Farquhar and Jason Briley who completed Iron Man UK in
Wales in September 2011, or just starting out and competing in a first sprint triathlon. The training programme, which encompasses all three elements - swim, bike, run - is available at
www.andovertriathlon.org.uk. Expert coaches will be pleased to help and support those exploring the sport for the first time or trying to achieve their own personal goals.
