RECENT events at the 'Advent' archery shoot at the Andover Leisure Centre saw another local team in the medal position.
The Overton Black Arrows, who are to be found shooting every Wednesday and Friday night at Testbourne School in Whitchurch, took the Silver Medal in the Recurve Team event, with Southampton taking the gold.
The four Black Arrows archers, Dawn Hill, Gary Keel, Steve Burke and Helen McGivern were happy with their achievements.
Overall end results saw both Helen and Gary finishing in 5th position in the Ladies and Gents recurve.
The event itself follows the success of the North Hants Shield, whereby Gary and Steve alone took the Silver in the team event and Gary taking the Gold in the recurve.
One of the founder members of the club and former British team member Peter Turner said of his team: "I am extremely pleased with the performance of the team as they faced tough opposition, including members of the British team."
