ZACH Glasspool is stepping down from his assistant manager’s role at Andover Town.
The former Alresford and Winchester City targetman wants to focus purely on playing for the Sydenhams Premier Division club.
When Glasspool joined Andover from Sholing last September, a back problem meant he was unable to perform to his full potential.
But since having an operation towards the end of last season, he can play pain-free again.
His new-found fitness has prompted him to give up the job as Glenn Burnett’s number two – a position that will be filled by coach John McFarlane.
Meanwhile, a new coach has been appointed with Steve Nesbeth joining Town's backroom team.
Thanking Glasspool for all his hard work, Burnett said: “Zach is an outstanding player in his own right and now he can hopefully put his injury behind him and concentrate on playing football pain-free once again.
“I worked with Zach at Winchester City and know his capabilities.
“Knowing how hard he’s worked at the back end of the season and in pre-season, I’m sure we will see the benefit of this.”
