SUNDAY League side Tidworth Town FC made it into their first cup final after defeating Soldiers Return, of the Basingstoke & District Sunday League, 4-3 in the Kelvin Cup.

A dominant first half for Tidworth led to Terry Brooks scoring a clever far post header after good work on the left from Declan Shuttleworth.

Shuttleworth then scored two great finishes to give Tidworth a 3-0 at half time.

Soldiers Return started the second half the strongest and after a few defensive errors from Tidworth they found themselves at 3 goals each within the first 15 minutes.

After the slow start Tidworth finally found some rhythm and put the pressure on as they looked to grab a winner and prevent extra time and possibly penalties.

With chances being squandered by the Wiltshire side, extra time looked inevitable.

But with great work from Shuttleworth down the right, another wonderful cross was met by Brooks sliding in at the far post to give him 27 goals of the campaign so far and put Tidworth in the Kelvin Cup Final.

The game will take place on April 30 at the Winklebury Complex.
