WHITCHURCH United were beaten 3-0 in a crunch game away at bottom of the league Verwood Town on Wednesday night.
The 18th placed Jam Boys travelled to the Dorset side hoping to end a run of a three games without a win.
However the plucky bottom dwellers took the lead through Michael Haskell after 23 minutes.
Liam Donachy added a second minutes before half-time to send United into the break with a two goal disadvantage.
Verwood maintained their two goal cushion through the second half and added a third in injury time through Charles Gajic.
The result moves Verwood off the bottom and into 19th place, level on points with Whitchurch.
Significantly, United now sit just a point above bottom of the league side Cowes Sport.
Whitchurch will be hoping for a better result when they host mid-table Lymington Town on Saturday.
