Andover's derby clash with Whitchurch postponed due to "frozen pitch"
ANDOVER Town's crunch derby with Whitchurch United was postponed last night due to a frozen Longmeadow pitch.
The Jam Boys tweeted just hours before the match that the highly anticipated game was still on, amid fears that the plummeting temperatures might lead to the game being cancelled.
But on arrival, officials deemed Whitchurch's pitch unplayable and called the game off due to a "frozen pitch".
The crunch derby will now be rescheduled for a later date.
Andover Town's next game is away at Sholing on Tuesday 3 January.
Whitchurch play Verwood Town away on Wednesday 4 January.
