ANDOVER Town are in touching distance of a second placed finish, and possible promotion, as the Wessex Premier League season draws to a close.
The Portway side are chasing the second placed spot, which could result in promotion to the Southern League depending on the number of relegations this season.
Town currently sit in third, four points behind second placed side Blackfield and Langley.
However Andover were given a boost on Thursday night as the Watersiders lost their game in hand in a 1-0 defeat to runaway league leaders Salisbury.
The result means Town could narrow the gap to just one point if they beat third from bottom Fawley at home on Saturday.
