ANDOVER Town will miss their opportunity to maintain pressure on league leaders Salisbury after tonight's game against Alresford Town was called off.
The Wessex Premier League confirmed the tie was postponed earlier today after an assessor found Alresford's pitch to be waterlogged.
The postponement means that Town will not have the opportunity to regain their equal footing with title rivals Salisbury, who went three points clear at the top of the Premier Division with a 6-0 away win at Team Solent on Friday night.
The announcement was followed by a series of postponements for tonight's round of Russell Cote Cup fixtures, due in part to the recent rainfall and the incoming Storm Barney.
