SILVERSTONE was no place to hide when Leon Morris and Jake Archer went into battle in their quest for points in their respective championships writes Tim Crisp.
At the start of the weekend Morris was leading the title by a point from in-form rider Robbie Brown and the first of the two races over the weekend took place on Saturday under bright skies and on a dry track.
Morris, on the Carl Cox Motorsport P&H Motorcycles 899 Ducati, lined up on the second row, two seconds behind pole-sitter Brown.
Morris only led the race for two laps, the first and the last, finishing 0.091 ahead of Brown and the reward for the win for Leon was 25 points.
Sunday saw another battle between Morris and Brown, who were joined in the fight by Rob Guiver. Guiver had squeezed Morris back to third spot at the flag, which now means with one round and two races left in this season’s championship Leon is second, three points adrift of Brown.
Meanwhile, Jake Archer secured more points in the Hel British Motorstar Championship on the RS Racing Honda with a fourth, sixth and seventh place finish.
