New Street U10s won the Testway Youth League Trophy following a nail biting finish.

The trophy was played over three phases between October and April with New Street unbeaten at the top going in to the final phase at Foxcotte Park on Saturday.Street got off to a good start with a convincing 2-0 win against Popley with Tom McGarel and Louis Harvey scoring. The pressure showed in their second match against Upper Clatford who took an early lead but Street responded well when McGarel equalised and Clatford held on for the draw. In their final match Mace Hexagon Stores sponsored Street responded well with a 2-0 win against a lively Andover Shooters with two spectacular goals from Ollie Kissick.Street finished level on points with Worthys Youth at the top of the table which meant a penalty shoot-out to determine the winners.Ewan Small got a hand to Worthys’ first penalty but the momentum carried the ball over the line. Ewan Foakes, McGarel, Marc Cleary scored while Small saved Worthys’ fourth and New Streets fourth was also saved with the keeper doing enough. Both teams scored their fifth with Benji Maxwell showing great composure and Small pulled off a second save and Louis Harvey struck the winning penalty for Andover New Street.
