NEW Street took their unbeaten run to an impressive six games with this win over Laverstock and Ford on Saturday.

They again went into this game full of confidence and last week’s hat-trick man Casson Spencer saw his shot come back off the post.

Boss Paul Reidy had to reshuffle as they lost Harry Burt due to injury just before the half hour but the break came with no score.

The second half had more of a tempo to it and Aldridge Vehicles sponsored Street created the first opening when the hard working Spencer and Shane Lock both went close.

Dave Tasker kept the visitors out before the more attacking Street went in front when a ball from Gary Thorne then flicked on by Spencer for Lock to finish at the second attempt.

Laverstock changed their formation to go for the equaliser but New Street took advantage John Robb clinched the points from a corner.

Reidy said after: “We had a couple of players missing today but those who came in were superb. Josh Aspinall had a fine game and Shane Lock and Casson Spencer are a force together.

Losing Harry Burt early was a blow but all the players who were used just slotted in and nothing changed.

“That comes from the hard work that is put in during training which makes us very organised.

“We are on a great run at the moment and I’m so proud of the whole squad and what they are achieving.”
