Abbotts Ann 27 SAS 43

THIS thoroughly enjoyable game started off close and the first quarter saw SAS with more of the ball, but they were unable to convert their opportunities while the Abbotts Ann shooters were slotting home comfortably.

The second quarter saw Kate Towerton and Jodie Gibson find their shooting form and extend the SAS lead but Abbotts Ann reduced the scoreline with some fantastic long-range shots from Dani and Tracey in the Abbotts Ann circle; however some precise feeds from newly-wed Stacey Smith and an impressive SAS debut by Angie Lee led to a steady conversion of goals and SAS retaining their lead throughout the game.

Transplus Tigers 58 Simply Health 32

TIGERS took an early lead with some great linkage between Helen Sarvar in centre court and GS Hannah Carter.

Simply Health made up some ground in the second half with some heroic defending from Lauren Webb and excellent shots from Paula Burgess. A closely contested and well fought game ended 58-32 to Tigers.

Wimpy 43 Simply Aces 42

THIS was a closely contested match right from the start with Wimpy’s shooters putting in a fine display of long shots allowing them to take the lead by one goal by the end of the first quarter.

Aces came back strongly in the second quarter with Kathy Holley (C) dominating the centre court for Aces allowing them to take the lead at 19-22. Wimpy were not going to allow this game to slip away though, and with a change of tactics in defence and some exceptional shots and interceptions from player of the match Kim Brown (GA), finished the third quarter with a five goal lead.

Again Aces fought back hard and were certainly the stronger side in the final quarter, but Wimpy held on to win by a nail-biting one goal.

SAS 28 Arrow Purple 62

THIS fast and competitive game saw Arrows get off to an early lead with SAS hot on their heels.

Arrows pulled away in the second quarter thanks to some penetrating runs and conversions from Abbie Frogett. SAS made some changes in the third quarter to reduce the deficit once more with the ever versatile Kate Towerton working tirelessly to cover the court. Some long range shooting from Betsy Tuffrey and Dulcie Smith helped the SAS cause; however, Arrow’s dominance saw them find their target.

Transplus Tigers 58 Simply Health 32

TRANSPLUS Tigers took their fifth connective win against Simply Health last week after a hard fought battle in the goal thirds.

Simply Health’s circle defence put up a strong challenge, keeping the Tigers’ shots at goal to a minimum.

Tigers, though, provided their shooters with enough ball to push the scoreline ahead.

In the final quarter however, the shooting duo of Simply Health ensured the scoreline didn’t fall to under half of their opponents.
