ANDOVER II travelled to Winchester to face their old rival in a game both sides knew would be tough and it didn't disappoint.
It took Winchester 15 minutes to break the Andover defence with a lucky charged-down try and after the restart Andover found themselves down to 14 men, but strangely this seemed to help, and with some great hits from Oliver, Morgan and Hatcher, Winchester relied on their pacy backs and the one man overlap to score two more tries out wide.
As Andover came back to full strength it took just five minutes for another player to be shown the yellow card and with Andover back down to 14 Winchester pinched a try just before half-time.
As Andover started the second half, still with just 14, Winchester struck again through the midfield, but in true Andover form this developing side refused to give up and dominated the scrum.
Winchester found themselves defending their own line and from a lineout Dougie Searle comfortably marched over for a try.
The pressure was on, they had the hosts pinned to their line, and after a penalty try was not awarded Winchester countered to score the final try of the match. Man of the match was Aaron Hatcher.
