Andover Ladies 0 Surbiton Ladies 3

ANDOVER Ladies played Surbiton in torrential rain, which unfortunately didn’t dampen the travelling team’s performance.

Andover opened well, passing the ball around freely, but it was Surbiton who broke the deadlock with a well worked goal and they doubled their advantage with a finely-executed penalty corner routine.

The second half proved more fruitful for Andover with more scoring opportunities, but with no end result. Andover were unjustly reduced to nine players for the final ten minutes, where Surbiton took advantage and scored a third.

The game was abandoned early due to the torrential rain.

Andover Ladies III 6 Eastleigh Ladies II 0

AFTER a wobbly start and a lot of rain, the Ladies III put on a promising display against Eastleigh Ladies II.

The first half ended 3-0 to the home side with goals from Jojo Hart, Ann Collins and Rachel Wiseman from a cross from Sarah Rose.

Collins buried her second after the break, taking the score to 4-0.

Andover pushed forward and Karlie Buckley seized her fifth goal of the season from the back and Becca Farndell-Thorne finally scored her first goal with an explosive shot that left the keeper stunned.

The win puts the ladies third in the league table.

Winchester Ladies III 3 Andover Ladies II 3

The Ladies II salvaged a draw from a very difficult afternoon which is a credit to the team's character. They lost a player to the first team in the morning and then Sammy Meredith was injured in the first half and could not continue.

Forward Sally Prior pulled a hamstring but bravely carried on.

Before this Andover started confidently and soon took the lead when Sally Prior skilfully flicked home after finding herself free in the area. Winchester equalised soon after from a penalty corner, and an injury forced Jodie Williams off for a few minutes.

Andover found themselves 2-1 down at the break after a mix up allowed Winchester to score.

In a much improved second half, Louise Cuff went close after a mazy run before player of the match Emily Lord equalised after a determined run.

Winchester regained the lead with a fine shot from the top of the D, but Andover’s fighting spirit saw them come right back and pinch a deserved equaliser.
