New Street banked a rare point on Saturday after their 1-1 draw with East Cowes Vics at Foxcotte Park.
The teams fought out an even first half with New Street failing to capitalise on some good football and falling behind when a free-kick caused confusion in the defence and ended up inside the far post. Shane Lock claimed the equaliser and in a very one-sided second half Street did everything but score. It was a better point for Vics than as the Islanders had conceded 45 goals in their previous ten league fixtures.
Street are level on points with Downton (for whom Vinnie Rusher has re-signed) at the bottom of the table
