AFTER a run of poor results Andover Town were delighted to leave Grigg Lane with a point but will consider themsleves unfortunate not to have claimed all three.

Charlie Gunson and Akwan Nyarko- Marfo were handed their first start, Nico Willams was promoted from the academy for his debut and Jake Wellesley-David returned in goal.

Williams always worried the home side and at the back Matt Scott and Ryan Inskip rarely put a foot wrong.

Town looked most likely to open the scoring and two minutes before the break Williams was brought down just inside the box but Marfo’s spot-kick was saved at full stretch.

Five minutes into the second half Badgers’ leading scorer Darryl Phillips put his side ahead but ten minutes later Andover were back on level terms when Danny Urry latched on to Marfo’s precision through ball to fire home from from 15 yards.

Substitute Michael Dixon was shown a straight red card for an alleged two footed tackle late on, but Town still held the upper hand and it was the home side who looked most relieved when the final whistle went.
