It now goes down to the the final two races of the season to decide who will win the 2014 Ducati Trioptions Cup.

Stockbridge racer Leon Morris left the TT Circuit at Assen in north east Holland on Sunday evening win a 13 point lead which he has held since the first round at Brands Hatch back in April, writes TIM CRISP.

This was the only round of the championship to be held outside of the UK, a track which Morris knows and loves and on which he has had success before.

The very fast 2.8 mile circuit is used by the World Superbike and the Moto Grand Prix championships and free practice on Friday saw Leon get straight back into the grove, topping the time sheets, however he found himself only fourth quickest on the first sector behind top placed rider Rob Guver, but he was fastest through the speed trap on the start finish line.

Later Leon qualified fourth behind teammate and rival Dennis Hobbs.

Bright dry weather conditions greeted the riders on Saturday for their ten lap race which saw Morris go from fourth to second on lap one before dropping back to fourth at the end of the race, only 0.111sec behind the third placed rider with Hobbs winning.

On Sunday with a ten point lead over Hobbs Leon started from the middle of the front row in second place again and led for the first few laps before dropping down to third where he finished after having a battle to keep Hobbs at bay.

On his Carl Cox Motorsport P&H Ducati Leon has had six wins, three seconds, three thirds and two fourths, having finished every race and just needs to maintain that form at Silverstone on October 5 to secure a well deserved title.
