New Street are still looking for their first win of the season despite a spirited showing on Saturday against Team Solent at Foxcotte Park.
The visitors started well and were a goal up on 13 minutes through Mattew Sheedy but Street came back playing some good football and five minutes before the break Shane Lock seized onto prince Xamela flick to level with a fine volley.
After the break both teams contributed to an entertaining game and home keeper Tom Crozier kept his side in the game until young Harry Burt succumbed to cramp and the ten men could not hold out as Craig Thomas tapped in the winner.
On Tuesday New Street had the unenviable task of visiting Combined Counties Leaguers Hartley Wintney in the Hampshire Senior Cup and again they gave a good account of themselves and could have been two goals up before the home side took the lead through Ian Jones.
Liam Wilkins levelled for Street with his first goal for the club since moving from Stockbridge but goals from Craig Barker, Lukas Burt and Mason Stephens effectively ended the contest.
Street were not to give up and Gary Thorne’s 30 yarder made it 4-2 before Steve Noakes made it safe and gave the home side a tie with Gosport Borough in the next round.
Street go to Cowes Sports tomorrow in the Wessex Division One and hope to have defender Jake Smith in the squad, having signed the Stockbridge defender this week.
