Amport v Old Basing.
Amport were on the right side of the weather again this Saturday as they completed a convincing eight wicket win over Old Basing.
Losing the toss but being asked to bowl, they were soon in charge as Dean Woodhouse with 2-7 from seven and Ian Langdown (1-17), took wickets without giving away runs. All the fielders were on their mettle and not a single chance went begging. Ade Holwell bowled with no luck but still returned 1-37 and Leighton Bone was back to his best returning a fantastic spell of 4-37 from ten.
All this created pressure with only Darren Turner (32) putting up any resistance as debutant Jack Kent, who had previously bagged a brilliant running catch took two wickets in two balls, including that of Turner for 32 effectively wrapped up the first innings as Old Basing were all out for 99.
Openers Nick Bone and Rob Skeates worked hard to see out a ten over pre-tea session then Skeates, Ian Langdown (40no) and Ant Gillard powered the village side past the target and into fourth in the league.
