Whiteparish v Wherwell.
Wherwell travelled to Whiteparish knowing the rain was coming.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat they soon realised why they were asked to bat on what appeared a good strip but turned out to be a minefield and variable at best.
KJM sponsored Wherwell lost regular wickets with only Nathan Young (30) really getting to grips with the pitch. Stuart Taylor hit a flamboyant 22 but nobody else really got going. Nigel Horne batted with the tail for a impressive eight not out as Wherwell ended up 78 all out They knew if they applied themselves that such a low score would be hard on a horrendous pitch with slow outfield.
They started perfectly with great lines and lengths as Wherwell were up the game. Mark Pettman 5-12, Taylor 2-10 and Young 3-11 never let up and bowled Whiteparish out for 35. No opposition batsman got into double figures.
