New Street manager Paul Reidy has been boosted by the news that long serving keeper Dave Tasker has signed for another season in the Wessex League Division One.

Former Andover stopper Tasker is one of a number of players Reidy has signed including striker Redmond Hutchins, Craig Harmon, defender Gary Thorne, son Shane Reidy and midfielder Keiron le Brun.

Street’s pre season friendlies begin at Sparsholt College on Thursday July 10 when they visit Andover Town while training continues at Charlton on Wednesdays at 7pm.

Reidy was also pleased with how well the reserve side is taking shape: “Dec Barrett is taking charge of the Wyvern League side while Gary Jones is at the helm for the Swifts.

“The club has entered the Russell Cotes Cup and is hopeful of a place in the Basingstoke Senior and Salisbury Hospital Cups.”

Following the Wessex League AGM it is now confirmed that there will be 16 teams in Division One which begins on August 9 while the Premier Division will have 21 and will start a week earlier.
