In the Whitchurch and District Bowls League this week St Mary Bourne Hawks lost 44-50 at home to Howard Park in Division 1 but picked up two points to climb to sixth ahead of Andover B whose game was postponed and who drop to eighth at the halfway stage of the season.
In Division 2 Whitchurch Yellows suffered their first loss of the season going down 46-54 to lowly placed Hook Hares. Yellows picked up only one point but remain top seven points ahead of club mates Blacks who climb to second after their 69-43 (4.5-0.5) win against Andover A who remain fourth but only two points clear of the relegation places.
Ian Selwood, Ann Adamson and Steve Smith scored the highest winning rink margin (33-9) in this match.
St Mary Bourne Eagles had a convincing win away at Howard Park 63-35 picking up all five points and move up to fifth.
