Andover BMX Club had Morgan Whitely missing, who was racing in the European round in Birmingham when current Masters champion Kelvin Batey travelled down from Sheffield to run some sessions for club riders as well as some from across the south.

With BMX racing becoming a bigger sport it was a fantastic opportunity to have some world championship coaching available, especially as six of the Andover riders (Arne Esslemont, Harry Elliott, Whitely, Jordi Hart, Jack Gordon-Stables and Ady Rumsey) have qualified to race in the World Championships in Rotterdam next month.

The weather was perfect and the track was in fine condition and the riders under Kelvin’s coaching became better from practicing their sprints, gate starts and general bike handling skills.
