Andover New Street’s new boss Paul Reidy was delighted with the attendance for his first training session this week as the pre season preparations kick in.

More than 40 players were in situ and Reidy has begun signing his squad for the Wessex League campaign which begins in early August.

Midfielder Harry Burt has committed to the club having been in the Swifts squad last season and he is joined by Lee Foyle, a 22 year old defender or midfielder who was at Sunday League Wolversdene.

Teenage goalkeeper Tom Crozier has also signed and Reidy said: “It was really pleasing to have so many from the youth system training and it can only be good for the club.”

There was more good news as New Street have welcomed on board Aldridge Vehicles as the new club first team sponsors while Ward Removals will feature on the shirts of the Wyvern League side.

Reidy has added another friendly to the list as he takes a squad to Hampshire Division One side Broughton on Thursday July 31 at 6.45pm.

Training continues at Charlton on Wednesdays at 6.30pm and all are welcome.
