Andover II v Overton.

Andover II made it three wins in a row with a convincing 129 run victory over Overton.

The pitch was in a remarkably good condition after the storms and skipper Martin Roberts had no hesitation in electing to bat.

The start was delayed briefly by a light shower but that did not deter the Test Valley Window sponsored side from posting a decent score of 208-5.

Sean Purchase and Andy Sale complimented each other well as they put on 54 for the first wicket, Purchase showing the way with another boundary strewn half century.

Overton fought back in the middle of the innings as Andover experienced a mini collapse from 126-2 to 136- 5 leaving the door open for Overton.

Harry Blackburn (67no) and Phil Greening (20) however were unmovable as they saw Andover through.

In reply Overton were bowled out for just 79 as their innings never really got going.

Andover got off to a good start removing Pitt for just two and only Galvin (21) and Miller (26) offered any resistance for the village side.

Aiden Jansen (2-12) bowled beautifully from the London Road end but first XI skipper Mike Adams (4-26) and Phil Knight (3-16) stole the show as they ripped out the middle order and tail-enders.

Adams picked up his four wickets in the space of just ten balls and was unfortunate not to pick up a hat-trick.
