A formidable side from Fm Eclipse Netball Club entered the widely popular Patsy Bye charity tournament last week, which raises money for cancer charities.
The AXA Premier League winning side maintained their magnificent reputation, winning all six matches in the morning pool stages. In the afternoon, Eclipse again finished top of their group to progress into the tournament final. A long, hot day of netball in the blistering heat took its toll on all the teams competing at the Russell Howard facility in Basingstoke, but there was all to play for in the final.
Taking on Farnborough Fires Fm Eclipse demonstrated superior fitness and skill levels which saw them take an early lead. While the young Fires’ squad fought valiantly, at one point coming within two goals, Fm were always in control, finally winning 11-8.
At the tournament presentation, the delighted squad, sponsored by Box-it, collected their winners’ medals along with the award for Best Defending Unit.
