Burridge II v Amport.

After losing the toss again, Amport were asked to bat and after losing Gillard in the second over, Ian Langdown (21) and Dan Holewell (14) looked comfortable for a while. Langdown was next to go, nicking to the keeper and Holewell soon after chipping to mid-on. Young Robbie Randall (12) steadied the innings and calming things down and Skeates (29) looked in better form with three big sixes, but when he mistimed another attempted big blow he was caught at deep mid-wicket.

Ade Holewell (40) used his experience before being caught and Lee Ayers (26) and Peet van der Westhuizen hit a few lusty blows allowing Amport finishing on 204. A respectable score but always looking to be 30-40 short on what looked a superb Burridge track.

A little light on bowling, Amport did well and in the middle overs were on target to hold Burridge off but despite their best efforts and some tight bowling Burridge reached the target with three overs to spare losing four wickets. Langdown being the pick of the bowlers with 2-42 from his ten overs.

Being short of a number of key players though, Amport played hard and with good team spirit and tried everything they could to win the game. Skipper Ayers was very pleased and impressed with the young players brought in from the seconds. Young Ben Black and Brandon Smith, both 15 and wicket keeper Alex Ayers, only 13 showed that they are more than capable of performing in county divisions.
