Wessex League Premier Division Whitchurch United have appointed Carl Bennett as new first team manager and he will be joined by assistant manager Dan Piper.
Alongside Carl and Dan will be goalkeeping coach Nigel Green who will work with the seniors and help develop the U17 and 18 keepers.
Club chairman Brian Jackman told the Advertiser: “Carl is a young coach who is keen to make his name in the Sydenham's League Premier Division. ‘ He is aware of Whitchurch’s history and past achievements and Carl is very excited to be joining the club. The focus will now be on pre season training and building his squad in preparation for the pre season friendlies.”
Jackman added: “This is the start of a new chapter which Whitchurch and Carl were very much looking forward to. Carl and his team will take up their new roles immediately and begin preparation for the coming season. ”
Whitchurch acted quickly when successful and popular boss Jim Macey called it a day soon after the end of season celebrations and long serving number two John Rutledge has also called time and has decided to work on the club’s board next season.
Pre season starts at Whitchurch FC on June 28 at 11am at Longmeadow.
