Hurstbourne Priors v Whiteparish.

Hurstbourne Priors achieved their first league win thanks to an impressive run chase at home to Whiteparish.
Bowling first Priors found it hard going on a damp pitch and Whiteparish put on 52 for the first wicket.
Ady Budd (2-23) took an impressive one-handed catch off his own bowling to remove Paddy Lecount and with Jim Dovey soon following Priors gained the initiative at 67-2.
However the away side had other ideas and the impressive Josh Green (61) played ultra positive from the off taking all the bowling on.
Whiteparish had looked set for a huge target with Green in but it took a stunning catch from Ashok Nautiyal to remove him before Mark Hamson (3-34) and Stewart Samways (1-43) regained control and strangled the run rate, supported by some good fielding especially Bryn Pegler who took a spectacular catch in the gulley.
Whiteparish reached 184-8 off their allotted 45.
Priors’ response was not ideal losing both openers in quick succession as Glyn Turk (2-23) bowled an impressive line and Priors were stalling to get going until Mark Matthews (38) and man of the match Budd (55) came together.
Both dealt out some lusty blows but it was Budd who looked the more threatening.
With Matthews gone, the ever dependable Sandeep Naik (38no) helped guide Priors close to the target with some great shots through the covers and his dashing between the wicket.
Budd eventually fell to Dovey's wobbling spin but seasoned campaigner Steve Trinder hit two boundaries to see Priors home and take 23 points.
