Vernham Dean YFC need new players

First published in Sport by

Vernham Dean Youth Football Club is the only original team competing in the Testway Youth Football League being a member for the last 26 years, and is on the verge of extinction due to lack of players. The club has been running since 1986 and has great facilities in the village.

The club is hoping to run under 9s, 12s and 15s next season and is in desperate short supply of players aged 7, 8, 10, 11, 13 and 14 as at the August 31 and have dedicated managers who wish to continue..

The club ran three teams last year, unfortunately the U15s had to withdraw through lack of players, but the U11s and U14s although ending up bottom of their respective divisions kept going with the minimum amount of players necessary If any clubs in the local area are in a similar situation Vernham Dean FC would be willing to consider combining resources.

The clubs ethos is to supply football for boys and girls of any ability in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Contact Roger Smith on e-mail at rogeresmith@hotmail.c k or telephone 01264 737373.
