Wessex Premier Division Whitchurch United are looking for a new first team manager today as Jim Macey has tendered his resignation with immediate effect due to personal reasons.

It has come as a blow to the club who have enjoyed success in the league with runners-up and promotion a year ago and their best ever FA Cup run as well as big scalps in league and cup during this last campaign.

Chairman Brian Jackman said: “The committee and I were saddened to receive Jim’s resignation as first team manage but fully understand why.

'Whitchurch United would like to place on record our utmost appreciation for everything that he has done for the club since his appointment – especially his achievements in leading the club to promotion from Sydenham’s Division One in 2013.  In addition he guided the team on their best FA Cup run and won several awards for the club of the month.  He has ended his time with Whitchurch helping them to finishing mid table in their first season in the Premier Division.
The club would like to wish Jim the best of luck in his future endeavuors and will now begin the search for a replacement manager and will hope to make an announcement in the near future on his successor."
Whitchurch are now seeking a successor and the club would like to hear from applicants interested in taking over as first-team manager who should forward their CV to chairman.wufc@gmail.com or call Brian Jackman 07717 583526 to arrange an interview.
