Andover Golfing Society made the trip down to Cranborne Chase recently to contest the David Randall Spring Trophy in the lovely country park-style setting of Rushmore GC.

Some fine scores were posted and the society was pleased to welcome back three members of David's family who played as guests, presented the trophy and kindly donated some extra prizes.

Ken Sangster sportingly played for the wooden spoon, the guest prize was claimed by Guy Lowton, Nearest-the-Pin awards went to Graham Davey, Robin Coupland, Edward Randall and Brian Mellor and the Captain’s Prize for the best aggregate scores on the par threes were won by Bob Cradduck and Peter Quilliam.

In the main competition, society captain Sean Canham was third with 32 points, while a countback on 35 was needed to separate the runner-up Bob Cradduck from this year's winner Graham Davey.

The next meeting is next Thursday at Hamptworth GC - a very popular venue, and an important date for the diary is the AGS Charity Day on Wednesday June 18 at Test Valley GC, in aid of Young Epilepsy.
