Fm Eclipse Netball Club has won the Premier Division of the Basingstoke Netball League.
Captain Laura White and her team are understandably delighted. “Our aim for the season was to win the league and that was achieved through commitment to training and putting 100 per cent effort on court at all times, I couldn't be more pleased with the result", she explained.
The squad won ten of their 11 matches, notching up a huge goal difference of 221. Nearest rivals Global Crossing won eight of their 11 matches, finishing with a goal difference of 40.
Building on the spectacular success of previous seasons in Andover and Salisbury leagues, the Box IT sponsored club made a conscious decision to push their players more than previous years by entering more challenging competition environments in 2014. The league win is evidence that the change of focus is paying off for the club.
While the club is enjoying this success, they are not sitting back and resting on their laurels. Coach Kathryn Evans explained: “The club has exciting plans for the future - we are continuing to work to build playing depth across the club and are now actively recruiting new players for the summer to build on our achievements and already looking forward to next season.”
