Bournemouth Sports 1 Overton Utd 2.

Against bottom of the league Bournemouth Sports Overton got off to a great start as Ben Dibbern’s 35 yard flew in with just five minutes on the clock.

On the restart Bournemouth went straight back at United using the strong wind which held the ball up at times and was difficult to get control of of.

Quality from both sides was lacking and with the conditions playing its part the game did not flow in a very stop start half.

On the half hour PPhil Staples equalised for Bournemouth following a goalmouth scramble and it stayed that way at the break.

The second half was not much better but both sides tried to play football but again the windy conditions did not help.

Frustration with some of the refereing decisions brought cautions then Bournemouth hit the post but as the game went on Overton just had the edge.

With six minutes left Dave Parry was brought down 20 yards from goal and he stepped up to bury what proved to be the winner.

Manager Jamie Fewtrell said after the game: “We did not play well today but again we stuck to the task in hand and got the result we wanted and needed.”

Man of the match was Gregor Restell.
