Fareham III 2 Andover 5.

Andover put in their best performance of the season as they stormed to a 5-2 win away at Fareham.

A hat-trick from Will Turner and goals from Sam Goacher and Olly Bridge saw the town side claim all three points.

The win moves Andover up to sixth in Hampshire Area Division One and they are now unbeaten in their last four matches.

After the game captain Jamie Hacker said: “I was really proud of my players, we were fantastic from the first whistle and the better team from start to finish.

“We were very clinical in attack and incredibly solid at the back, I couldn’t have asked for more from my players and I’m glad we have kept our good run going.”

The opening exchanges were fairly even with both sides looking sharp on their return from the Christmas break but it was Andover who took the lead when Turner deflected captain Jamie Hacker’s shot high into the net.

Fareham struck back soon after but immediately from the restart good work from Will Osmond set up Turner to score his second.

After the break Andover continued to press and they extended their lead when Goacher swept past the keeper then Olly Bridge’s strike put Andover 4-1 ahead before Hacker fed Turner to complete his hat-trick.

The hosts found the net in the final ten minutes but Andover kept their cool and ensured that all the points returned with them.

Next up for Andover is table toppers Wimborne Wayfarers at John Hanson School on Saturday starting at 1pm.
