Andover Ladies 2 Lewes Ladies 0.
Following the Christmas break Andover were keen to play again as Lewes had beaten Andover in their first meeting.
Andover began well, passing with fluidity and having the majority of the possession in the first half and they harried Lewes giving them little opportunity to settle.
The midfield pairing of captain Anika Drage and Karen Winnett turned Lewes' attacks to their advantage and the opening goal came when Freyja Haige found Ellie Ingram whose square pass was well finished by Drage. The second half proved more challenging with the defence denying any clear cut chances.
The second came when left back Eleri Watson dispossessed a Lewes forward and Drage and Bel Penfound set up Jacqui West in an excellent position to fire home.
An excellent opening game which leaves Andover sitting in sixth position in the South 3B league two points off third spot.
