Portway Stadium opener goes ahead tomorrow

Andover Town's long awaited debut at the Portway Stadium goes ahead tomorrow (Saturday) following a dry day and extensive work on the new pitch.

Town boss Neil Benson told the Advertiser "The pitch is looking good and providing there is no further bad weather we go ahead and look forward to welcoming everyone to our new home."

Team Solent are the visitors for what is a crucial game at the top of the Wessex Division One while Barry Andrews' newly formed Stockbridge squad go over to East Cowes Vics for their first game since the previous management resigned taking almost all the side with them in mid November.

Andover New Street sit the weekend out after tonight's match with Amesbury was washed out.

In the Premier Division Whitchurch United hope to entertain Horndean.
