The long awaited reopening of the Portway Stadium has been put back by seven days following the postponement of today's Wessex League Division One top of the table clash between Andover Town and Petersfield Town.
Heavy overnight rain made the decision inevitable and it meant there is no football at all in and around Andover today. Andover New Street's home game with Tadley Calleva, Anodver Lions top of the table clash with Bush Hill and Whitchurch United v Bournemouth are also off.
Late this morning the Wessex League website was indicating that the whole fixture list in both divisions was called off.
This week's Advertiser is out on Friday and will include a review of the sporting year plus a profile on Tidworth superbike rider Andy Bates and a round up of the sport which survived the weather
