Each year, following the installation of the new club captain, members of Tidworth Garrison Golf Club assemble on a weekend to take on the Captain's Challenge.
This year there was an overnight frost that quickly fled from a warming sun and the Challenge was in the form of a simple individual Stableford competition over 18 holes.
Members were tasked to beat a challenging score to be set by the captain and his team members comprising (pictured) the junior captain - Charl Malan, ladies' captain - Julia Wheeler, club captain - Brian Hutchins, seniors' captain - Peter Wood, club vice captain - Mike Cripps and seniors' vice captain - Phil Hall.
Although the team.s scores were all quite reasonable, the vice captain posted a very respectable 37 points, which only three members of the 200 plus participants were able to exceed.
These were Jim Dempsie (41), Steve Walmesley (39) and Bhumiraj Rai (39).
