Home defeat for County darts

Hampshire county darts took another defeat last weekend at home to Nottinghamshire .

The Ladies B took a shocking blow going down 5-1 to Notts B. Sam Pike was carrying the flu but would want no excuses made but her 3-0 defeat to Sarah Brent as it was simply not the form Sam has been in .

The Men’s B also took another defeat 10-8 this month to which Richie Ford was on the receiving end against Wes Dean 3-1.

Ford missed his chance in the first leg to go one up but a missed a vital double cost him dearly despite Richie nine tons with Hampshire 10-8 down over night .

In Sunday’s matches, the Ladies A got Hampshire back on level terms winning 4-2 but the Men’s A took a rare defeat 10-8 which included six matches all going to the wire which were lost.

Mark Thorne got back to winning ways beating Nottingham’s Mark Wilson in a 4-3 thriller which included 11 tons and a maximum .

But it wasn’t to be Hampshire’s weekend after suffering a 20-16 final result in favour of Nottinghamshire.

Hampshire are still sitting in second position and are still in contention for promotion back into the Premier League but can’t afford anymore defeats this season.

Their next match is after the Christmas break on the weekend of 18 and 19 January away to Devon .

The Andover Academy is almost complete on competitions again for another year with only five weeks left until everything is finalised.

The presentation evening is on Saturday January 25 at which will be crowned the new Generation 180 King or Queen.

Hopefully weather permitting there will be 11 guests of honour attending.

The Academy would like to thank their sponsors once again with a huge thank you to the Wolversdene Club incorporating the Hayward Suite , BTLS Hayley and Unicorn Darts , without whom the academy would not be able to continue.
