LAST Sunday saw Team Falcons travel to Windsor for the first in the CIMAC National Super League Kickboxing Series.
The day opened with juniors Kyle Schulze and Callum Hollinshead taking to the mats.
For Kyle this was a big step up as the CIMAC is the premier league in the UK and novice level on this league equates to intermediate and even advanced at other competitions. While Kyle lost his first fight, he showed real improvement and demonstrated that he is starting to use the techniques and tactics he's picking up in class.
Callum has been on the scene for a season now and his greater experience showed taking him to the semi-finals of the boys’ novice pointfighting and a bronze medal after a hard fought third place fight off.
Bekah Mills was in the girls’ advanced pointfighting and began well, dominating the early rounds to get through to the final where she met her nemesis from Bristol. Although Bekah had the skill to win, she has lost to this girl before and mentally was not in the right place. A silver medal for Bekah and a valuable lesson on the importance of having a positive mental attitude.
