Durrington WMC and Wykeham take snooker league to the wire

Durrington WMC hold a three point lead at the top of the table and have now completed their matches after a 5-2 win against Wolversdene B.
Dave Chilcott and Kevin Brooking shared the opening frames, Martin Hill beat James Griggs 2-0 and Dave Fitz-Henry and David Brooking shared the final frames. The only team able to catch them are the Wykeham Club who are two points behind with a rearranged game against Old Castle Club to come. Wykeham kept their title hopes alive with a 6-1 win over Enham A with Dan Good and Ben Day both winning their matches 2-0 against Barry Coleman and Chris Hynes. Jerome Chaplin and James Mack drew the last two frames, with James knocking in a season’s best 29 break to avoid the whitewash.
Enham C’s chances of winning the title ended with a surprise 5-2 home loss to Wolversdene C.
Richard Sopp and Gary Walters both lost 2-0 to Carl Johnson and Paul Savage then Terry Lock won the final two frames against Gary Budden.
Wolversdene A had a fine 6-1 win away to bottom side Old Castle Club with Steve Wilkinson beating Rick Young 2-0 and Andy Churchill with the help of a 31 break beat John McDermott by the same scoreline. Steve Green and Ian Redfearn drew the final frames.
