Winchester Ladies 0 New Street Ladies 5.
North Hants Women’s Cup semi-final.
NEW Street Ladies’ busy schedule continued last Wednesday week when they beat Winchester Women 5-0 in the semi-final of the North Hants Women’s FA Cup at the Denplan Stadium.
Player of the match Sara Collins gave her side an eighth minute lead direct from a corner and moments later it was two as she converted a penalty after Kerri Lewis was brought down. Stand-in captain Claire Selway made it three and just before the break Kyla Tobin’s visios shot was spilled and Lewis slammed home the fourth.
Manager Steve Taylor made changes at the break with future matches in mind and on the hour debut girl Lauren Pearce scored the fifth.
Tobin hit the post, Lydia Moulding hit the bar and Charlotte Hull chipped just over but New Street were always confortable as they set up a final place with Basingstoke Ladies.
Stony Stratford 3 New Street Ladies 4.
Southern Region Division One.
THREE second half goals gave New Street Ladies victory at Milton Keynes on Sunday and afurther boost in their race for promotion.
They had to come from behind as the home side’s Rachel Waller got on the end of a long pass to score early on. Jess Frampton and Kerri Lewis set up Sara Collins whose shot was saved then Laura Humpreys’ follow up went just over but just on half-time Street were level as Charlotte Hull finished a fine move involving captain Frampton and Humphreys.
Nicki Mullins replaced the injured Ella Howells in goal at the break and she was soon beaten as the ever-dangerous Waller fired home from 25 yards.
From the kick-off Frampton again set up Hull who equalised again and Street began to play some superb football.
On 70 minutes they got their reward when Lewis scored and Sarah Larman made the game safe five minutes later from just inside the box.
Stony Stratford were not quite done as Waller completed her hat-trick but there was just time for Frampton to strike the bar with a free-kick.
On Sunday the Ladies are away to Tower Hill Ladies from Witney in Oxfordshire.
