Senior Dan Read and junor Liam Whitehorn have been elected as Andover Darts Academy captains with Harriet Raynsford as vice senior captain and all have been duly congratulated by the coaches and members.

Week three saw Logan Barnecutt topping his high score in the Dartsathalon with a massive 758 with Dan Brown on 736 and Aaron Hedges 729. Team Taylor doubles man Read scored 40 including three double 14s and Karl Brooks’ 26 points included three double tops. In the Cricket Read and Harriet hit a massive 910 points with Sam Ellis and Amy Thorne with 323. Senior player of the month for February was Jack Morris.

This week’s junior section played board singles and board one was won by the in-form Stan Dunn with five from five but the impressive William Morgan hit a six dart finish from 201 which included an excellent 67 checkout. Scott Ellis continued his good form with three wins on board two with Cameron Willis-Murphy winning two. Board three saw Ethan Neale with three wins narrowly beating Chaz Monk on two.

Tamara Clackson won board four with three and Lloyd Wakeham was second with two. Tamara was also February junior player of the month.

l Hampshire had a fine 20-16 win at Cornwall last weekend.

Samantha Pike was unlucky in the Ladies B losing 3-0 to Karen Goldsworthy while Mark Thorne was back on top form winning his B match 3-0 with a superb 27.83 average against Cornwall’s Simon Knowles.

Thorne was promoted into the A team on the Sunday after picking up man of the match on the Saturday but narrowly lost 3-4 to Simon McClary with a 23.96 average.

Hampshire’s next match is at home to County Durham on March 23/24 at Farnham. On Saturday March 23 the Academy are staging a sportsman’s dinner with Eric Bristow and John Gwynne and have a table available costing £40 per head including a four course meal and entertainment.
