Andover Table Tennis League Division 2 saw a real flurry of matches due to earlier postponements.

The oldest rearranged match was between top of the table Hanson D and Test Valley C resulting in a 9-1 win for Hanson. Mike Cartridge and Ben Addington won three each but Alex Powell was beaten in four games by Sean O’Farrell.

Test Valley C then had an excellent 7-3 win over Test Valley B for whom Neil McDonald won all three. Brendon Tasker, Sean O’Farrell and Seamus O’Farrell all won two each and won a hard fought doubles, 11-9, 12-14, 14-12, 8-11, 11-8.

Enham lost 4-6 to Hanson D in a tight match where seven matches went to four games or more. Andy Farmer as usual won his three for Enham.

Test Valley B suffered a 2-8 defeat to second placed 3D’s, with Neil McDonald fighting a rearguard action winning two. Zach Hine won his three for 3D’s, ably supported by two each from Matt Carter and Jessie Yi.

Wolversdene B lost 2-8 to Hanson C which was a splendid result for Hanson and overturns a previous 9-1 defeat earlier in the season. Tommy Mackie and Chris Gregory won two each but the star of the show was Rhys Jones with his first ever three. Matt Barnfather won one for Wolversdene and only just lost to Rhys 6-11, 11-9, 13-11, 6-11, 11-13, while Jill Cook just beat Chris 13-11, 9-11, 5-11, 11-9, 12-10.

In Division 1, Hanson A produced a very good 8-2 win over Figheldean, thanks to three from Josh White. The match =was closer than the score suggests, Dan Geary won two playing four and five games and Peter Henderson won both his two in five games narrowly beating Phil Cook 14-12, 11-9, 8-11, 6-11, 12-10.

Wolversdene A are closing in on second place after a 10-0 win over Wallop Wanderers. Manish Chitris, Steve Harris and Trevor Whitelock all won three, but Trevor was pushed hard by Tomos Hardiman and just won 11-2, 11-5, 5-11, 11-13, 11-3.

Test Valley A unfortunately suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Pumas 0-10, with three each for Ray Carver, Danas Kairys and Richard Fettes.
